How long have you been in business?
Gordon Stuart has been in business for 33 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a women's specialty store selling women's clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I worked for my business partner, Gayle Gordon Welcher at her store, The Coed Shop in Norman while attending OU. In 1982, we decided to open Gordon Stuart in Oklahoma City. the name is derived from her middle name Gordon and my maiden name, Stuart. We still get calls from people asking for Mr. Gordon Stuart.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Oklahoma City has always been a great environment for women's retail in that every store has its own niche and the community has been very supportive of all of us. Our specialty is "the next thing" in fashion. We've always been the first to introduce new trends, while maintaining a classic attitude. We bring our customers new ideas in style without espousing short term fads. Gordon Stuart main objective is outstanding customer service.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have the one location at 6500 North Western Avenue in Oklahoma City. we built our own building in 1996.

Gordon Stuart is located just north of the intersection of NW 63rd Street and North Western Avenue on the east side of the street. We're in the building just north of The Metro.

Gordon Stuart is owned by Gayle Welcher who manages and Sarah Stuart Crandall who does the buying and runs the online business.

Our hours are 10 am -5:30 pm Monday through Saturday.

The best compliment we receive is when someone tells us how much they enjoy the purchases they make from us.
